Amsterdam, Netherlands Mikumi National Park

Ruaha National Park is the second-largest National Park in Tanzania and covers an area of about 22,000 km². It is one of the few of Tanzania’s famous wilderness areas, whereby the experience of game viewing is spiced up by the exciting landscape and its Great Ruaha River.

The park has a high concentration of elephants, and magnificent mammals like greater and lesser kudus, sable and roan antelopes can easily be spotted in miombo woodland. The park is also a habitat for endangered wild dogs, leopards, cheetahs, giraffes, zebras, bat-eared foxes and jackals.

Day 1:: Dar es Salaam to Ruaha National Park

By morning, depart Dar es Salaam, flying to Ruaha National Park to Msembe Airstrip. On arrival at Msembe Airstrip, you will be met by a driver-guide. Before heading on a game drive en route to the Lodge, a brief introduction to the surrounding area. Once at camp, you will have the opportunity to relax and familiarise yourself.

In the afternoon, you have the opportunity to head out on an afternoon game drive in an open safari vehicle. Then, as evening approaches, it’s time to return to the lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight.

Day 2:: Ruaha National Park

Deliciously morning breakfast, followed by options for a full day of game drives with picnic lunches or a relaxed lunch in camp with an afternoon game drive. Regardless of sharing vehicles on a Game Package basis, the lodge will do everything to ensure that your ideal structure is met.

Ruaha is the second-largest park and the second-largest elephant sanctuary in Tanzania. The wide variety of animals that inhabit the park includes greater and lesser kudus, cheetahs, lions, roan and sable antelopes. Ruaha is an ideal place for spotting wilderness and scenic beauty.

Day 3:Ruaha National Park to Dar es Salaam

After breakfast, pack your bags and say your farewells as you depart for Msembe Airstrip for your scheduled flight to Dar es Salaam Airport. Wave goodbye to Ruaha and enjoy an en-route game drive to the airstrip.

Think of Amsterdam, and you cannot help but think of water - the city is built on 60 per cent reclaimed land, which the Dutch continue to wrestle from the sea with a series of dunes, dykes and dams. The city's distinctively crooked skyline is the result of a deliberate non-straightening policy for historical buildings - 21,000 are on the official monument list - as they slide gracefully sideways on their wooden piling foundations. The nations capital has no fewer than 7,000 of the city's buildings listed, most of them the high-gabled 18th-century houses that line its iconic canals. But unlike other museum-quality metropolises - Bruges, Vienna or Venice, for example - its soul is young: a vibrant mix of bars, brothels and bicycle bells.
